Frequently Asked Questions

The following is the beginning of a list Comfy Cotton is compiling with answers to some of the most common customer questions. If you have a question you don’t see here, please email it to support@comfycotton.ca
and we’ll do our best to find an answer for you.

When should I sign up for the service?

Please sign up about a month before the due date for a first diaper delivery two or three weeks before. This way you have the diapers ready and available for when the baby arrives. Once you start using the diapers just call us to let us know when to resume the service.

When do I switch my baby from infant to toddler diapers?

Most babies switch from infant to toddler diapers sometime between the weight of 18-20 pounds, which for most babies is some time between 6 months to one year. The infant diaper is approximately 11"x13" while the toddler diaper is approximately 13"x17." The extra material makes the toddler diaper much more absorbent, which suits older babies who are now wetting less frequently but more heavily.

What’s the difference between the super whisper wrap and the original bummis?

The original bummis is a light-weight nylon that hangs to dry. The super whisper wrap is a heavier quality polyester cover, able to manage heavy wetters, more durable, and able to go in the dryer.
We usually recommend customers start with the light-weight nylon because a heavy quality, durable cover is not necessarily what is needed at the outset. Newborns grow incredibly quickly and move out of this first cover very quickly, so durability isn’t as important. As well newborns wet frequently but not heavily.
Our best recommendation is that you try them both. Often customers adamantly prefer one or the other, but there’s no way of knowing until you try!

Do I need to rinse the diapers?

Comfy Cotton operates a dry pail system. There is no need to rinse the diapers. With newborns just throw the diapers as they are directly in the bag that lines the pail. The diapers are treated with an anti-bacterial agent that delays bacteria growth and the associated smells. As well, every other month Comfy Cotton provides customers with a carbon filter to control pail odor.
When the baby is older and eating solids, just dump or shake the stool in the toilet. There is still no need to scrape or scrub or rinse. Just throw what hasn’t found its way into the toilet into the bag in the pail.

What happens if I don’t get my diapers out on time for the driver?

The best solution to this problem is to put out your diapers the night before!
If your diapers are not out, the driver will knock at your door or ring your doorbell. If there is no response he will still leave you a clean batch of diapers
There’s three diaper collection options for those living in the Toronto area, and just one option for those in outlying areas.
The one option available to everybody is to hold on to the diapers an extra week. Since we only have two sets of diapers in circulation for each customer, the following week we will have no diapers to deliver to you since you have both sets UNLESS….you request an extra order of diapers, for which there is a $5.00 charge. Otherwise we will just pick up the soiled diapers.
The second option is for you to drop of your diapers at our office in Markham. Please phone us ahead of time if you plan to do this to help us track the diapers. (Technically out of towners could choose this option if they wanted to.)
The third option is for you to request for us to send a courier to pick up the soiled diapers from your home. For this there is a $15.00 charge.

Does Comfy Cotton deliver on holidays?

Very rarely does Comfy Cotton cancel service on a holiday. If there is to be a change in your diaper service, we will notify you well ahead of time, with notices in your diaper delivery, to expect a change in the delivery date.
If you didn’t get a notice, expect regular delivery on the holiday.
